Two Days Old!

It's Sunday night. Jeanene and Jordan are planning on coming home tomorrow afternoon.

Jeanene is still recovering well. She has a healthy appetite and is getting around very well.
Jordan has become a little piggy. She eats every 2-3 hours and it is hard to believe how much her little belly can hold.

It is so special to hold my little daughter in my arms. She is definitely her daddy's girl!

One Day Old

Jordan has been in this world now for one full day! She is learning to eat and cry very well. She and momma are still doing wonderfully! In fact, Jeanene has already showered and taken a walk around the birthing center.

We have had so many visitors, and we have enjoyed them all who've come.

Jordan has been such a sweet, quiet baby. Of course, she sleeps a lot, and when she is awake she seems content to be held and look around.

Big brother Jarrod was so sad when he had to come home for bed last night. He loves Jordan so much and even told me how he wants to take care of her.

Happy Birthday, Jordan!

Jordan Divens arrived this morning, March 28, 2008, at 8:39. She is 19 1/2 inches long and weighs in at 7lbs 6oz. She was born at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Sidney, Oh. Mother and baby are doing wonderfully!

(Jeanene will be in the hospital for a few more days, so I came home to keep you all informed!)

We woke up early and got to the hospital at 6:30. At 8:30, the nurses wheeled Jeanene into surgery. The surgery went very well, praise the Lord! Jordan cried a lot when she was getting cleaned up and bathed. It was a very sweet cry and brought both tears and laughter. I took her to Jeanene and she did not cry for several hours as she was held, kissed and talked to.

She took a three hour nap, which was hard on her big brother, Jarrod, who wanted to talk to her.

Jeanene is recovering quickly. Within 4 hours of surgery, she has drunk a Sprite, 7-Up, eaten two jell-os, two packs of crackers, a plate of fruit and a whole hamburger. She says she wants pizza for supper.

Thanks for your prayers and I'll update the blog when I can.

A Good Time with Family

It's Friday night and we just got home from Mamaw and Papaw Divens' house. All the cousins got to color and hunt spring eggs. I (Jase) have always enjoyed this tradition, but this is the first time I have been on the other side - I was the one hiding the eggs. I smeared one with toothpaste, hid four in the yard lamp, my brother Josh hid one in a thorn bush, and I even colored and hid four raw eggs!! It was lots of fun!

We had our last scheduled baby-doctor visit before our little girl comes. It is so hard to believe that in less than 7 days I will be holding my little baby girl in my arms. Please continue to pray for Jeanene in the very important last week.

Question of the day: "Will Spring ever come in Ohio?"

One more week to wait

Update

I just wanted to report quickly about everyone. Jase is working steadily, and we are so grateful for that. Not without kinks, but going well. Jarrod is playing hard and waiting patiently for his baby sister to come. He is counting down the days just as we all are. I am scheduled for an ultrasound this Friday. I have REALLY had to slow down the last week. Last Tuesday, I spent half the day in the hospital for observation and then they sent me home with orders to take it easy. As I said before, she is schedule "to arrive" March 28th, but then again she could come earlier. I am NOT very good at doing nothing for days on end, so this as been a VERY slow week. Anyway, all is well . . . again, just waiting. Thanks so much for checking on us!

Can't Sleep

Yes, it's about 2 o'clock in the morning and I am still awake. I've had a bit of trouble with my back, so I intend to stay awake until I just fall over. All of these sleepless nights will be over in less than a month . . .Just Kidding. I know, It's only the beginning. When Jarrod was born, as I recall, he was REALLY turned around for a few weeks. He wanted to start the day at 2 am. It took awhile to get that turned around.
Anyway, since I'm alive, alert(yeah, right), and awake, I figured I would post.
Jase has had the last 2 days off of work, and I've enjoyed having him home. We went out for supper this evening, but otherwise, it's been pretty calm . . . well, sort of. Jarrod Loves when his "Papa"is here. He loves to wrestle as most boys do. Since I'm not in the "wrestling mood" these days, it's up to the Daddy. I'm sure many of you can understand, It's like having TWO kids when they get started. When one has had enough(and you can figure out who), they don't say "uncle". They say "Papa's the greatest and Jarrod's the stinkiest!" It's really funny to hear them!
Well, the only other thing interesting this week has been the weather. We have had a fair amount of snow since we have lived here in Ohio as you can expect. This Tuesday,we had a pretty good ice storm. . . with some snow of course. The power stayed on through all of it, but I have no idea how. The wind was horrible! The funny thing was that we had a picnic because it was so nice . . . on Monday. The weather really changed in just a few hours. It will be nice when spring comes and Stays!
Well, I'm going to try my bed again. Thanks for checking in. Good night!
