Can't Sleep

Yes, it's about 2 o'clock in the morning and I am still awake. I've had a bit of trouble with my back, so I intend to stay awake until I just fall over. All of these sleepless nights will be over in less than a month . . .Just Kidding. I know, It's only the beginning. When Jarrod was born, as I recall, he was REALLY turned around for a few weeks. He wanted to start the day at 2 am. It took awhile to get that turned around.
Anyway, since I'm alive, alert(yeah, right), and awake, I figured I would post.
Jase has had the last 2 days off of work, and I've enjoyed having him home. We went out for supper this evening, but otherwise, it's been pretty calm . . . well, sort of. Jarrod Loves when his "Papa"is here. He loves to wrestle as most boys do. Since I'm not in the "wrestling mood" these days, it's up to the Daddy. I'm sure many of you can understand, It's like having TWO kids when they get started. When one has had enough(and you can figure out who), they don't say "uncle". They say "Papa's the greatest and Jarrod's the stinkiest!" It's really funny to hear them!
Well, the only other thing interesting this week has been the weather. We have had a fair amount of snow since we have lived here in Ohio as you can expect. This Tuesday,we had a pretty good ice storm. . . with some snow of course. The power stayed on through all of it, but I have no idea how. The wind was horrible! The funny thing was that we had a picnic because it was so nice . . . on Monday. The weather really changed in just a few hours. It will be nice when spring comes and Stays!

Well, I'm still here, just a bit slow at posting. Honestly, I really don't have much to say because there hasn't been much going on.
Jase's job transfer finally went through. He was expecting to have to drive about thirty minutes away to a neighboring town, but a position opened up at a location in town, less than five minutes away. We are very thankful!
Jarrod is adjusted well with the move. He is enjoying being around cousins, Mammaw and Pappaw D, and Jase's brothers & sister. Last week, he went with Mammaw D. and several of them ice skating. I'm sorry I don't have any pictures. I'm glad we have this opportunity now to be around family. Even the little things like Sunday dinner we are able to be a part of and enjoy.
As far as myself, I'm doing well. Our little girl is scheduled to make her appearance on March 28th. As most are at this stage, I'm ready to have this over with. I really don't enjoy feeling like I'm the size of a house.:)

Jarrod's 5th Birthday

We have celebrated Jarrod' s birthday for the last two weeks. While we were with my parents in VA, we had birthday cake(a Police car cake) thanks to my Aunt Kit and a small party with family.

It snowed several times while we were there. Obviously, Grammy got the hard part. I don't know how he talked her into pulling him UP the hill!





When we got back to Ohio, we had another birthday party with Jase's family. The kids made homemade pizza, played games, had brownies and icecream, and watched a movie.





It's hard to believe Jarrod is already five! Time really does go by so fast! Happy Birthday, Jarrod!

Back in the 21st Century

Welcome back! Well, to us. We have been out of town and out of touch for almost 1 month.

We were able to spend several weeks with Jeanene's parents in Southwestern Virginia. It is beautiful country, especially when the snow is on the mountains. I was able to do some work with Jeanene's Uncle Sam on a well-drilling crew. It was a neat learning experience.

We had the chance to help Jeanene's mom and dad redo their kitchen. There was plenty of work so everyone got in the action. It was a lot of work, but turned out beautifully. I wanted to say a big "Thanks" to Mr. Keith Smith, a good friend of mine from Richmond who came over to help us set the cabinets and countertop.

Today is Wednesday, January 2. Tomorrow afternoon, Jeanene has her first doctor's appointment in Ohio. After her appointment, we are leaving to go to Jamin and Joy's house to see their newborn baby, Jackson Boyer.

Friday we are driving down to Virginia to spend 3 weeks with Jeanene's parents. We are definitely looking forward to that!
