We have had a good, but full week. Wednesday, I spent the morning picking strawberries.

Thursday I drove to Roanoke, VA to have lunch with my mom and to pick up Jarrod. He had been with my family a couple days. That evening, we had our third and last Sports Event Fundraiser for the teens going to camp. The way it works is the men of the church play the teen boys in basketball and the women of the church and the teen girls play volleyball. We have concessions and charge for admission, players and spectators. All together, we raised $1,800 -not too bad!

On Saturday, we went to Lake Gaston, NC and spend most the day with a teen's family. We had a great time on the jetski & tubes! Jarrod loved it! He said, "It was unbelievable!" :) I think he wants one now! We are looking forward to spending time with friends this evening, too. God has blessed us with many friends!

Jada, my sister, came to visit this past weekend. We always have a good time with her.

While she was here, we had a teen activity on Friday evening--bowling and out for supper. It was very relaxing. We have had a lot of things going on with our teens lately, several of those are raising money for camp(We are making plans to go to the WILDS in July). You should have seen my shoes! They were by far the most ridiculous bowling shoes I have ever worn-Florescent orange and yellow! We got to spend good quality time just "hanging out" with our group.

Saturday morning we had the opportunity to go to the nursing home and sing with my Jr Choir. What a blessing! They did a beautiful job! After singing, the kids passed out flowers to the residents. It was a very sweet time.

Jarrod and Jada left yesterday afternoon to go to Grammy and Pawpaw's house(my parents). I miss him, but I have a lot of work that I can catch up on. I better get busy . . .

Mother's Day

Jarrod with Uncle Jamin & Aunt Joy
Children's Choir singing Mother's Day

My brother Jamin and his wife, Joy, were here last week for a visit. We had such a good time with them! On Tuesday, we all went to Colonial Williamsburg for the day. We really didn't get into anything big, it was just fun being together with family. They were able to stay for Sunday morning which was Mother's Day. Jamin taught Teen Sunday School for Jase and then my Children's Choir, Jarrod included, sang for the morning service. They did wonderful! I had a good Mother's Day!

Here we go . . .

We just wanted to be like everyone else. We were feeling left out! Everybody else looks like they are having so much fun blogging. We wanted to be a part of it! Actually, I have enjoyed keeping up with family and friends on their blogs, and decided to jump in too! Let me know what you think!
