Happy Summer!

What a day to be outside. Praise God for warm weather, sunshine and... a sprinkler!! What simple pleasures we are able to enjoy!

I have an interesting opportunity tomorrow. We have a nursing home ministry with our teens where we go and sing, testify, I get to preach, and we just have a good time trying to be a blessing.

Sunday, a lady from the nursing home that works in our church asked if I would like to do a marriage-vow-renewal service. A couple in the nursing home, who are both in their 80's, want to have a small service to renew their commitment to each other. I have never done anything like that and I am looking forward to it!

We have Neighborhood Bible Time in our church next week. The kids program will be in the morning and then we'll have the big teen program at night. I'm sure it will be a very exciting week. Help us pray that we will reach boys and girls with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Enjoy your day and weekend. Happy Summer!

A Busy Weekend Ahead

Doesn't it seem that the days run together sometimes. Here it Friday evening and the next 4 days are going to be one.

It is such an exciting time with graduations, grad. parties, weddings, teen activities, Neighborhood Bible Time, Magnificent Monday, church, get-togethers, attempted vacations, work, oh, and family in there some time. We all get so busy, don't we!?!

In all of our hustle and bustle, let's not forget the important things in life: our relationship with our Savior and time with our family.

Often, I have to make a conscious decision to step away from the computer, put the book down, or shut off the lawn mower. Our son, Jarrod, is almost 4 1/2 years old. Too soon we will be longing for the days of his childhood. May God help us to enjoy and cherish them while they are here.

May God bless your weekend, and Happy Father's Day!

Pray for the Waller family

Many of you have already heard of the death of Crown College student, Lee Waller. Please pray for the family and friends of this young man. When Jase and I were serving in Michigan, we had the privilege of having a precious young lady in our youth group by the name of Jessica Hamilton. Jessica and Lee had been planning to be married in a year or so. We love this girl so much. Please pray for Jessica specifically at this time that the Lord will give strength and comfort.

Washington D.C.

We have had such a good weekend! Jase's family flew in from OH for a visit early Friday morning. It has been a lot of fun.

Monday morning we all went to Washington D.C. for the day. With good traffic (which usually doesn't happen), we can be there in about an hour and a half.Once we reach the city, we ride the metro(subway) downtown. Everyone enjoys the ride without the traffic!

Changing of the Guard ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknowns

Visiting the Capital

Washington Monument & World War II Memorial

Taking a Break

On to the Lincoln Memorial

Had enough history for one day!

We enjoyed making these sweet memories with our family!
